If you are familiar with Russia and its Government, you will likely be familiar with the Russian Cyber War reputation. Across the globe for many years Russia has held people in fear with their ability to launch cyber-attacks. This reputation has now come to an end thanks to Anonymous.
In the early days of the Illegal Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Anonymous collective declared cyber war upon Russia, its corrupt Government and those who support this Neo Nazi Regime. Anonymous was not bluffing. Since the declaration of Cyber War, Anonymous has had a breathtaking amount of success against the Russian Government. Just recently the Central Bank of Russia was under control of Anonymous for a second time proving the Russians incapable of protecting their own assets in this Cyber War with Anonymous.
Alongside the Central Bank, Anonymous has accessed multiple prominent Russian Government, news and cooperate websites. Another giant success was Anonymous leaked data from Russian Federal Agency Roskomnadzor, the agency responsible for censoring and installing propaganda within Russian Media. Another massive target success has been the Russian Commonwealth of Independent States, an org that was founded in 1991 following the collapse of the Soviet Union known as CIS. CIS files were erased by the hundreds and replaced with folders that were re named "putin_stop_this_war" emails and administrative credentials were leaked to the public. Out of 100 Russian databases, 92 have been compromised.
Russia has attempted to cover this as the agencies admitted to being compromised a pro-Russia hacker made claim to have taken down the Anonymous website. We can confirm that that was a lie as Anonymous has no and has never had an official website and therefore that claim was easily and rightfully labeled as propaganda.
Russian Propaganda aside, Anonymous has essentially been devastating the Russian Hacker reputation so a point where the threat of Russian Cyber Attack is becoming less and less intimidating as Anonymous continues to show the world Russia is more bark than bite and is likely losing this cyber war on a massive scale.
