We truly live in an age of historic events. I see everywhere people sending a request into the universe that they not have to live through any more historical and life altering events. This is a common feeling among people who are up to date on the events in our world. From the climate crisis to once again across the world having to fight for equality and basic human rights. I remember starting this blog as a teenager hoping to make a positive impact and hoping to help create a better world for the future generations. I realize this was an unrealistic goal I had but that does not mean we cannot raise our voices collectively in order to tell others they are not alone in their experiences. This is so important especially as the struggles most in the world have been escalated due to either political environment, climate, and war.
Knowing the struggle of the world right now it is crucial to stand together strong against inequality and persecution. We need to remind ourselves that we live in a time where war is turning into genocide, concentration camps for LGBTQ+ people exist in Chechnya in order to exterminate those viewed as impure by extremists. We live in a world where police brutality accelerates into hate crime against people of color, people are dying, being murdered by those sworn to protect them. Our political leaders are more divided than ever where right and left clash and argue things that should never even be a debate. To add to all of this we have destroyed our planet and are starting to feel the impact of climate crisis. This is not the end times my darlings but these are rough times that we can not afford to ignore.
Accountability is what the general public desires while those in power seem to only attempt to accommodate with words instead of actions because the divide of power is so strong we are living in one giant stand still. I can only hope to provide inspiration and use my voice to not only spread this hope but to also highlight situations where people who have been victimized by dangerous and predatory people, giving a voice to those who need it.
I will admit I did not expect the events of the world to escalate the way they have, Make A Difference was put on a pause in solidarity with the people of Ukraine. I have come to realize that by doing so I have failed my readers from the Ukraine whom I have come to learn need that hope and that distraction from what they are going through. That being said I will begin to resume my regular posting schedule. I look forward to bringing you the next post.
Always remember, you are never alone in your experiences, you can and will get through this.
